Ik heb juist je Arduino software (S88 sensor interface to ECoS) getest met iTrain and met CS2 van Marklin.
De terugmedlig was wel vertraagd in mijn eerste test, S88Link met S88AC en daarna de Arduino.
Heb de Arduino aangesloten direkt of Bus 2 van de S88Link via de RJ45 kabel en nu werkt deze prima, zonder vertraging.
Hi Rudy, thank you for your videos on the Next generation Arcomora. I have spent many hours on constructing the device and have now encountered a problem while installing the driver. The error message reads “Object required: ‘portListNa.item(…)’ Code: 800A01A8. Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error”. Do you recognise this error and are you able to help me with this? Ik ben bezig een Märklin m rail baan te digitaliseren met mrdirect icm Traintech booster en van plan om met het mardec systeem de wissels te gaan besturen.
Nu wil ik de s88 module hier op gaan aansluiten, ik zal in totaal 52 terugmeldsensoren nodig gaan hebben.
Ik wil gaan terugmelden door middel van een contact rail en uw systeem nu het volgende is wat ik mij afvraag,
1.zou de Arduino dit kunnen trekken omdat er natuurlijk hogere spanning van de rails af gehaald gaat worden.
2. Zou mrdirect de Arduino pikken?
Mijn kennis van code schrijven is bijna 0, maar het programmeren moet wel lukken van de arduino,’s
De maximaal toelaatbare spanning op een Arduino is 5V. Als de manier van treindetectie een hogere spanning op de Arduino gaat geven dan zal de Arduino sneuvelen. Of MrDirect de Arduino’s ‘pikt’ … het gaat er om of een S88 interface aanwezig is.

Good morning Rudy, Firstly your video’s are excellent and provide fantastic information when using train controller. I have a question when using an ARDUINO to control micro switches and servo motors. Is it possible to drive both of these items with one ARDUINO or do I need to connect 2 of them one for each control. I interface to my computer using an LDT S88 interface modul and do not use any for of controller. My entire layout is run by a computer.
If there are any other users in Australia I would be pleased to be able to contact them.
One Arduino is perfectly capable of drivin servo’s and other accessories intermingled. I think in the download the mingled software version is no longer included, I changed to separating the servos and accessories. I still have that software available though, just send a reply here if you need it.
Rudd, I really enjoyed your videos. I’ve downloaded all 43, watched the first 13 which is about where I’m at with my own setup. I have about 7 locos that I want to run in an 8 foot x 11 foot layout. I’m having programming problems but the fun is trying to work them out! Your videos help a lot. I put them on my Google Drive so I can access from my iPad while sitting in my truck, or watching them at night, sitting up in bed. Vids 10,11, 12 I watched about 4-5 times each!! I use all Digitrax DCC and display the Switchboard on a 28 inch monitor above the layout. Check out my layout here: http://www.raiderracing.com/engineering/engineering.htm. Great job on the Train controller videos very helpful, I did have a couple questions regarding your experience in train detection with ECOS / ESU 50094. AM I able to use this as my primary detection in blocks? Or do I have to add additional train detection??

Thanks for your help but I’m afraid a couple of things elude me in schedules. I have tried this on two laptops both on the layout and in simulator mode.
When my Class 25 moves from one block to another in the fiddle yard, on arrival, once the speed has dropped to zero, the icon and label disappear but the block remains occupied! This then ruins the schedule further down the line. I have to quickly drag and drop it back onto the block.
Several trains refuse to move until the preceding move is complete even though I have “unchecked” the “Train may stay in start block” box.
I am very new to this field so any advice is welcome.

I have the ESU Ecos 50000 similar to that shown in your video of the DCC function decoder, so I thought my luck had come in. I use your v3 software. I am getting o/p to the Arduino pin 2, that is all. I think the problem may be the address range. I set a accessory lamp in ecos to decoder 1 address 2 and when I touch it on ecos screen it switches on/off on screen, but nothing else happens. Is there a base range for the addresses on ecos that I have missed, the manual is not good? Or, is the ecos not set properly to actually send out the change because I have not completed something after listing the accessory in page 1 on ecos? Can you make any suggestions please.

I have the Esu Ecos Controllstation 2. I’m using an Arduino Micro. The Signals seems to be okay, when I let the Arduino real the connected Pin 2 and write the state to Pin 13 it does the same like the LED near the optocoupler. But with the dcc Codes nothing happens.
Can you help me?
The code expects Interrupt 0 to be at pin 2. Can you check if an Arduino micro has that, hardware wise? With the ECoS there is nothing special that needs to be done. Best for quick test is to configure the DCC_Accessory_Decoder with one accessory, at address 1, output to pin 13 (= the on board LED). Create an acessory in the ECoS at address 1 (1:1). If that does not work, then there is something wrong with the optocouple hardware. Or the pinning of a ‘micro’ differs from Arduino Uno (I have not checked that).
